Hey hey hey, what’s going on there? Just a reminder: “The physics of…”, written by V. Mazzeo, is free today on Amazon (Kindle edition): The Physics of….
I hope you enjoy reading it!
Please, like, comment, like again, (re)post, and don’t forget to share it 😉
Hi guys, how do you do?
I hope you have the time to read the book which I wrote, “The physics of…”(Kindle format on Amazon).
After all this fuss, I decided to write a book about Physics for dummies.
Why did I decide to publish directly through Amazon?
Well, I get asked several times a week. I know what it’s like to have a book published by a traditional publisher and I know that publishers’ rejection doesn’t mean much (it isn’t necessarily a criticism of you or your writing).
“I’m sorry to say that (book title) isn’t planning to publish the manuscript that you submitted to us.”
For many people, a letter like this is a big let-down. However, rejection is part of writing business.
You could see that a rejection from publishers is not necessarily a bad sign.
You probably also know the stories about authors, such as J. K. Rowling, being rejected by more than a dozen publishers, before going on to make some lucky company heaps and heaps of money.
“The first agent I ever queried sent back a slip saying ‘My list is full. The folder you sent wouldn’t fit in the envelope,” replied Rowling. “I really minded about the folder, because I had almost no money and had to buy another one“, wrote J.K. Rowling on Twitter.
She has offered hope to aspiring authors everywhere!
“Too different from other juveniles on the market to warrant its selling” is the rejection letter sent to Dr Seuss (300 million sales and the 9th best-selling fiction author of all time). A similar rejection letter was sent to me ( now, I have to pay out of my pocket to publish my writing … Thanks publishers if I have no money! ).
Poetry publishers don’t have much in the way of a marketing budget.
So, how to become a famous writer before you’re dead?
Mmm, sincerely I have no idea, but now I know the reason why Tom Schulman wrote the Dead Poets Society!
I didn’t receive a lot of rejection letters ( I am jealous of my thoughts, my poems: “My precious” as Gollum would say); however, I have received several prizes and awards for my individual poems: “solace awards“, waiting for my success…
( I hope before I am dead 😉 )
